Andrew J. Clancy ’07
Andrew’s parents, Janice and Bernard Clancy, established the Andrew J. Clancy ’07 Memorial Fund in honor of their son who died during his sophomore year at the College. Andrew flourished while at Trinity. He joined Cleo, sang bass with the Trinity Chapel Singers, trained for the Trinity College Emergency Response Team, and spent a term on the Student Government Association. He had aspired one day to serve as a U.S. representative or to join the State Department. Andrew was a Russian studies major who enjoyed traveling. He had spent the summer before his death visiting China. A real outdoorsman, Andrew was a PSIA-certified ski instructor and a participant in the Appalachian Mountain Club’s 4,000 footers expeditions. Andrew will long be remembered for his great sense of humor, his easy-going manner, and his ability to easily make friends.
Bernard Clancy has retired from his position as senior health inspector for the town of Lowell, Massachusetts. Janice Clancy is an intensive care unit nurse serving at Saints Memorial Hospital. They have established another scholarship in Andrew’s memory at his high school, Central Catholic High School in Lawrence, Massachusetts.
