Donald E. Callaghan ’68, P’96
Donald Callaghan graduated from Trinity with a B.A. in psychology. He was the first in his family to attend college, and he enjoyed his experience at Trinity. He had been a stand-out rower in high school and continued his dedication to the sport in college. He and his crew team were four-time National Champions.
After graduation, Don served as an officer in the Navy until 1971. He then earned his M.B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania The Wharton School. In 1974, he joined Goldman Sachs, where he was responsible for advising banks, investment advisors, and pension funds on investment strategy and securities selection. In 1988, Don co-founded a specialized investment firm, Hirtle Callaghan & Co. The company serves as an outsourced chief investment officer and investment department, managing over $20 billion of legacy assets for family and institutional clients.
Don serves on the board of trustees at The Franklin Institute. He recently chaired their successful “Inspire Science” fundraising campaign which raised $65.2 million for the Institute. He is an honorary director of The Mann Center for the Performing Arts in Philadelphia and was previously a director of Keystone Property Trust.
