George A. Kellner ’64

George Kellner appreciates the growing number of international students attending Trinity each year. George does his part to increase that number through the establishment of the George A. Kellner ’64 Scholarship which brings four Hungarian students to Trinity each year to study. George was recognized for his efforts in supporting Hungarian students and Hungarian higher education when he was presented with the Officer’s Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary in May of 2009. His support of international studies continued with the establishment of the George A. and Martha B. Kellner South Asian Studies Chair in 2011. George also established the George A. Kellner Fund for Presidential Scholars in 2007.

George is the founder and CEO of Kellner, DiLeo & Co., LLC. He has been in the arbitrage business for over 25 years and founded KDC Merger Arbitrage Fund, LP in 1981. Prior to his career in arbitrage, he was a vice president and house counsel of the Madison Fund. George began his professional career as a securities lawyer at the Wall Street law firm Carter, Ledyard and Milburn.

George earned his B.A. from Trinity, a J.D. from Columbia Law School, and an M.B.A. from New York University’s Leonard Stern Graduate School of Business. He remains committed to Trinity, serving two terms as Trustee and being involved in a number of major fundraising initiatives including the Cornerstone Campaign. He has earned a number of accolades from his alma mater including the Alumni Achievement Award, the President’s Leadership Medal, the Gary McQuaid Award, the Eigenbrodt Cup, and induction to the Wall of Honor.
